For those curious about the cons mentioned by Rusty at 4:20 are: Boesky: Reference to Ivan Boesky, a Wall-Street trader accused of committing securitied fraud. This is Saul playing Lyman Zerga, a wealthy roller with insider information. Jim Brown: Reference to Jim Brown, a football player known for getting into a lot of fights. This is Frank and Linus getting in a fight so that Linus could pick-pocket Terry's security codes. Miss Daisy: Reference to "Driving Miss Daisy", where a woman is driven around by her chauffeur. This is the remote-controlled SWAT van that they are not really driving. Two Jethro's: Reference to "The Beverly Hillbillies" characters. These are the Molloy brother who look after the van and perform several tasks together. Leon Spinks: Reference to Leon Spinks, a boxer who beat Muhammad Ali which was a massive upset no one expected. This is when the big boxing match of the fight is disrupted by the lights going out which caused a massive distraction. Ella Fitzgerald: Reference to a commercial made by Memorex with a recording of Ella Fitzgerald's voice breaking a glass, then asking "is it live or is it memorex?". This is when the security system of the casino is watching a recording of the vault rather than the live feed of the vault.
Lol this was such a fun movie. Even all these years later.
Just go rob a horse track in any other other state then vegas. They tried the same thing as here (except the last one, the mutuels/money manager). Don't try it at Kentucky Downs lol. But omg, they're so bad: 1) Guy ran with a box like that....except we used tupperware because we lost our thing. He just wore a work shirt, and walked by and they just gave it to him and he walked out.(maybe like 5k there?) 2) Happens all the time, someone loses a betting slip, someone says it's stolen (most times they just lose it) we can track that down easily with tech, but they're usually stupid to come back next day to gamble. One dude stole some dude's like jackpock exacta like 25k, from right under him. (it was like 10 seperate tickets) cashed out while he was in the bathroom. Rumor has it he's in belize. 3) AFAIK this is still happening. the actual executive steals/'d over 1000 a day, skimming the top. was reported by her co-worker multiple times. Coworker got fired. AFAIK she still there.
hahaha what a great cut at the end
0:32 how i love these tarantino chapter screens, characther names...
I'm jewish/ irish. Why did i with everything. Just no.
Best part about this pitch is Danny and Rusty knew that Reuben fucking hated Benedict, but they never mentioned that to try and convince him. They knew he’d be curious enough to ask. This makes Reuben want to do it on his own accord rather than feel obligated for some reason. Makes him buy in to the plan even more.
I live not too far from that track. Good ol’ Derby Lane. I think they’re retiring the greyhounds out of the races now.
A Londoner here and that’s brilliant. Very funny
Barry was smart, he may have forgotten the first lesson in poker but he remembered not to bet on the bluff which is what he was about to say before he folded and he was the only one that didn't take the bait

341 Billion
Doing very quick math like 12k
because I have no idea. how this game works- How much money did Danny win during that poker game?
So ocean bet 500. The one guy folded, but then josh raised it to 1000. Molly called which means she also added 1000. Rusty called. then the two unnamed people called. Ocean then raised 2000 and everyone called which means its now 3000 per person. 15000 dollars total. plus whatever the first guy who folded would have added to the pot before folding. Call it maybe 15050.
Opening bet was 500. First guy folded. Second guy raised it from 500 to 1000 Including rusty, that's 5 bets on top of oceans so the pot is $5500. $500 of that is oceans. Ocean raised an additional $2000 Everyone called and stayed in Now pot is $17500 - $2500 of which is Oceans So off a $2500 bet he made $15,000 which included $2500 from Rusty. Assuming that since they both were in it together from the start they probably split it 50/50. Both guys get their original $2500 back and split the remaining $12,500 evenly. So that's $6,250 each. This was in 1999. Adjusted inflation to 2024, they both grossed about $11,500 each. Also going to assume that they're not paying taxes on this as well.
Favorite scene in the movie
I came to look for this video just to say. That one girl looks like she's straight up not having a good time
I wrote this without even getting to the car scene. Yeah straight up not having a blast
The bit at 2:31 where these B-list celebrities are getting mobbed for autographs while Brad Pitt and George Clooney just stroll on by is always funny on a meta level.
Joshua Jackson asks such a nosy question and very rude too!
played them like a fiddle. lol
Shantanu Kudav In Pirate Clothes
the lift wasn't that big a deal. Danny took his hand off the ticket and that's when he took it. Just a case of not paying attention.
Iblis thrown was on the sea Wheres the delegation with my scrolls? i dont ask i demand dead sea scrolls
I love how Ruben knew Danny and Rusty were luring him into their scheme when they revealed the casinos they were planning to rob, but knew that they knew he wouldn't be able to resist getting involved. Genuis salesmen😂😂
So much string betting.
movie rules which is to say, no rules make shit up
These 2 are like a more charming ben affleck matt damon duo.
More talented, more attractive, and more accomplished as well 😂😂
aww, leave matt out of it!
Reuben that type of the guy who eats salad and he still fat
Even though I love Don Cheadle, I feel like that character was the only bad part of the movie. Every time he talks they have some use British slang is if they're desperate to convince you that his in and out British accent is convincing. It's just corny.
A timeless classic.
And now the Mirage is going to close and become the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
I loved this Hollywood S

Fantastic movie
Was the monstrosity the Ba.....nvm lol
what did rusty whisper to saul at 2:04?
Elliot Gould had some acting chops. In the 70's he played a great 101st Airborne Colonel in "A Bridge Too Far."
1:15 Jon Cusack as the 1987 Ceasars Palace thief... Before they cut the long shot... the guards look to be close enough to just fall down the stairs on top of him. Cut to the 2nd angle. They stopped, let him get some distance, then shot him in what looks to be the most deserted shot of a Las Vegas casino in cinema history. Love the music selection... but that seems absurd if that happened in the era of the cellphone camera. I'm not sure that looks like a good shoot for 1980s Nevada.
worst character in the movie "i saw you before you got up this morning" what a lame line i hate characters who try to act cool rather then actually being cool intrinsically. rusty is the definition of actually being cool and sol is the exact opposite
I don't think he was trying to be cool, he was just doing the old man thing and saying "you can't fool me, I saw you the moment you got here, and I knew you would be coming anyway".
So you're telling me James Rhodey was once a bank robber?
I just realized Clare De Lune is playing in this scene and that's the song at the end when the song is successful
Trop cool
Is he Ross/Monica father from f.r.i.e.n.d.s?
As a child I thought the accent was so legit 😅
